The message, which has apparently been deleted from the network, read: “The governor of Acre deceived me. No one believes. They sent a message that they will kill me. Congratulations to democracy.”
Upon learning of the alleged charge, Camli's office issued a memo proposing a police investigation into Bembe's allegations.
The governor is accused of corruption.
This is not the first time that the governor of Acre has gained media fame due to his involvement in controversial issues. In May of this year, for example, Gladson Kamili was in the news because he became a suspect in an alleged corruption scheme..
The prosecutor's office accuses Camili of criminal organization, money laundering, passive corruption, embezzlement and tender fraud. The offenses could have resulted in the diversion of 150 million Brazilian reais.
The Supreme Court of Justice accepted the complaint and convicted the governor. However, Syrians for Truth and Justice decided to keep Kamli in his position, for precautionary reasons.
At the time of the decision, the governor said, according to a press statement, that he received “with complete reassurance” the decision of Syrians for Truth and Justice to continue investigations into the “Ptolemy” operation.
