Supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) have spread a video showing journalists from TV Globo celebrating the result of Sunday’s presidential election (10/30), which was won by Luiz Incio Lula da Silva (PT). The network issued a statement “regretting” the position of a small group that had forgotten the company’s editorial principles.

Polsonarios, such as Federal Representative Carla Zambelli (PL), used the video to attack the station and criticize the press’s lack of impartiality. “This is the ‘excluded’ and ‘neutral’ press,” the parliamentarian wrote.
The company, which was repeatedly attacked by President Bolsonaro himself, who indicated a bias towards “leftist ideology”, justified the photos.

Globo has about 15,000 employees, including 1,500 professionals working in the field of journalism. The statement says that the company, of course, does not have and does not intend to have any control over the electoral choices of each of these professionals, nor over how this preference is expressed in a special way. .

Despite this, the announcer lamented that this group of people spoke during business hours. “However, Globo regrets that, in the work environment, a small group has forgotten, for a few moments, the necessary and usual exercise of restraint, with respect to the norm and our editorial principles,” he notes.
