The application of the influenza vaccine will be extended in the capital, São Paulo, to new groups from next Monday (17).

  • Health and education professionals and security forces workers will be able to search for basic health units, from 7 am to 7 pm, in addition to integrated nurses who work on Saturdays and holidays.
  • The priority group also includes people with permanent disabilities or comorbidities, public transport workers in urban areas and roads, and the population deprived of liberty, including adolescents.

From the first day of vaccination in the city, last Monday (10), until Thursday (13), more than 218 thousand vaccinations have already been applied.

The Ministry of Health has provided more than 2 million doses to the city, of which 582,000 were received on Friday (14). In the whole of 2022, approximately 4.5 million people will be immunized.

The vaccine applied in this year’s campaign is trivalent. It combines three different types of influenza virus.

It is safe to take the flu vaccine with others in the national immunization schedule. And tip: take advantage of the trip to the health unit to also update the card and take your Covid booster.

The capital’s health minister estimates that more than two million people will be vaccinated at this stage of the campaign against influenza.
