On September 2 at Rock in Rio, Henrique Fogaça, chef and judge on “Masterchef”, will show a side not well known to the public: the singer. The Oitão vocalist – who focuses on hardcore, metal, and punk – promises songs to please even those “who don’t like rock”.

In addition to the chef as singer and composer, the band from São Paulo consists of guitarists Ciero and Ricardo Quatrucci and bassist Tchelo and drummer Rodrigo Oliveira.

Oitão began in 2008 and will perform in the Rock District, on the first day of the festival, the famous Metal Day, with Iron Maiden as the main title. When citing other artists who will be attending the festival on schedule, the chef defines opportunity as “something immeasurable.”

He says he is afraid of the show. “I’m crazy, see? I don’t sleep much. Anyway, but we’re making peace with everyone’s schedules.”

“It’s a lot of fun, something very grateful to the music, for what Oitão has been tracking these years.”

In addition to having restaurants in Rio (Sal Gastronomia and Sal Grosso), Fogaça is known for being its “masterchef”. Therefore, he says that the songs will be accessible to the audience who knows him through television. The idea is to introduce the band and convey the “rock philosophy”.

The sound will be cleaner, with a less “ugly” streak than the previous songs. Without losing its roots, the lyrics remain crucial, but with messages about love, friendship, brotherhood and the positive values of life.

There are social and political issues and conflict. However, it always ends in positive words. Understand the issues, however, play [para cima]because I believe very much in energy, what we transmit to the universe, we take back.”

Before the pandemic, the group was invited to the festival and the show was postponed for a year. Since then, the training routine has tried to reconcile the commitments of all members. At this last point, the singer jokes that he is “crazy” and sleeps little.

For Fogaça, cuisine and music – which today share his routine – are more alike than o. Both functions have a charming side and a more “underground” side.

“They have the daily and the inner part of the work, which not many people know. In the plans, in the people who work in Sal. [restaurante], as well as in Oitão as well. Therefore, they are two different domains, however, I treat them in terms of substance and root in the same way.”
