Baldur's Gate 3 is Game of the Year at the 2023 Steam Awards; See the winners

Baldur's Gate 3 won Game of the Year at the 2023 Steam Awards, an award received by Valve's digital store and determined by popular vote among players on the platform. The voting period remained open until today (2) at three in the afternoon, when the votes were counted and the winners were announced. In total, there were 11 categories and users who cast their votes will be able to get up to 11 different stickers for their account according to each category. In the Game of the Year category, Larian Studios' popular RPG based on Dungeons & Dragons competed with giants of various genres. Among them are Capcom's action game Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Warner Bros.' open-world RPG Hogwarts Legacy. Games, the EA Sports FC 24 soccer game (successor to FIFA 23) from Electronic Arts and the first Lethal Company title in early access from indie developer Zeekerss. Baldur's Gate 3 has become a fan favorite since winning at The Game Awards 2023 and also won the 'Outstanding Plot' award.

While there are some traditional categories like “Outstanding Visual Style,” “Best Soundtrack,” and “Most Innovative Gameplay,” the awards are also known for their unusual categories. “Made with Love,” for example, is for games that keep receiving content and “Best Game You Play Badly” targets games with a difficult learning curve. There's also a dedicated category for Valve's laptop called “Best Game on Steam Deck,” which has been taken over by Hogwarts Legacy. Check out all the winners below.
