On a trip with her fiancé in 2021, the young woman began burping several times a day, something she had not been able to do before.

“We used to joke about burping on vacation because I can never do that,” he told the Daily Mail.

The couple linked the woman’s symptoms to anxiety about planning their dream wedding. Without any other sign, the young woman lived her life normally until January of this year, when belching began, accompanied by vomiting and nausea.

“I was planning my engagement party, so I was very busy and anxious. But after the party I realized that I hadn’t gone to the bathroom for a few days, which was not normal for me. As the week went by, my symptoms started to increase. I had stomach pains,” he explains. Unbearable cramps and nausea, and I couldn’t keep food in my stomach.”

Since the young woman works as a nurse, the symptoms have been linked to an intestinal obstruction. But her mother made her go to the hospital and there she did a CT scan.

“Within ten minutes, I was told I had a mass in my colon, and that they would think it was cancer until proven otherwise.”

The young woman’s cancer was stage III.

Meanwhile, she was admitted to the hospital and did more tests, when they revealed that the disease was already in the third stage. Bailey’s treatment included surgery to remove his colon and lymph nodes, as well as 12 weeks of chemotherapy.

She is currently awaiting the results of more tests to determine if she will need further surgery or additional radiotherapy.
