RIO – The Olympics haven’t started yet, but TV Globo professionals who are in Tokyo for coverage have already caused network headaches. According to columnist Flávio Ricco, from the “R7” portal, the film’s reporter Mikael Fox was sent back to Brazil and fired after being accused of harassing two producers.
According to the journalist, everything happened during the quarantine that professionals have to do in the hotel once they reach Japan. There was a “small party” in the room of one of the team members, where the photographer had outgrown himself.
After the incident, the producers contacted the head of the channel in Brazil, complaining about the attitude of their colleague. In an attempt to stifle the case, Mikael was immediately sent back to Brazil, and as soon as he arrived in the country, he was informed of his resignation. He’s been in the house for over 14 years.
Globo issued the following note on the issue:
With Globo’s decision, which was not made by any professional from the team in Tokyo, film reporter Mikael Fox is no longer part of the company’s sports team. On compliance questions, Globo does not comment on the Ombudsman’s issues, but reiterates that any report of harassment, is ethical or sexually, it is carefully investigated as soon as the company becomes aware of it. Globo does not tolerate abusive behavior on its teams.”
