Wimbledon, UK, June 28, 2021 (AFP) – Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic panicked on his Wimbledon debut on Monday. The world number one started losing in the opening match of the London Traditional Tennis Championships, but showed all his class to defeat Britain’s Jack Draper (253 ATP) in three sets to 1, partial 4/6, 6/1, 6/2 and 6/2 In two hours of departure.

The Serbian, the current champion and favorite for the title, will face in the second round the winner of the duel between Chilean Marcelo Tomas Barrios (209) and South African Kevin Anderson (102).

In search of his 20th Grand Slam title, to equal the mark of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, Djokovic faced a 19-year-old opponent on center court who garnered the support of the present crowd.

Showing an aggressive style, Draper made three superficial errors and served very well, while the Serb failed in the crucial moments, allowing the Briton to close out the first set at 6/4.

At the next stage, Djokovic was reunited and showed why he had moved up the ATP rankings, as he dominated from the start to tie the score 6/1.

Obviously, the Serbian dominated the match and no longer gave the young opponent opportunities to turn the tables and start on the right foot towards the six-time London Grand Slam title.
