This internal alignment has provided a cohesive campaign that Biden has not achieved as effectively. Bettors, who had previously favored Trump, have sharply reduced Republicans’ margins of victory. Last week, Real Clear Politics showed Harris leading national polls for the first time: 48 percent to 46.8 percent for Trump, up 1.2 percentage points. In swing states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona, Harris has reversed the trend, and in Pennsylvania, for the first time since the beginning of the year, polls show a tie.
