“Deadpool & Wolverine,” the third film from director Ryan Reynolds, ended its third weekend at the worldwide box office with over $1 billion, or about R$5.7 billion. The film is the second this year to reach the billion-dollar mark, surpassed only by “Inside Out 2,” which collected nearly R$8.6 billion.
The film will soon surpass the box office of 2019's “Joker,” which until then was the only “R”-rated film in the United States to cross $1 billion at the box office, and will become the highest-grossing R-rated film in cinema history.
According to Variety, Deadpool & Wolverine is the $11 billion film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and MCU, and the 31st Disney film. This number has not been surpassed by an MCU film since 2021, when Spider-Man: No Way Home reached $1.9 billion.
