    All about WhatsApp

You may have already noticed that applications are subject to constant updates. This is necessary to optimize resources and keep up with new trends and technological advancements. However, these changes eventually lead to older mobile phones being unable to support new versions of applications. This is exactly what will happen with some models after the new WhatsApp update.

Devices are no longer able to receive updates.

Starting in July, the instant messaging app will no longer be compatible with some iOS and Android models. According to the WhatsApp Help Center, the tool stops working because older devices can no longer receive security updates and new software changes.

Currently, Meta is compatible with Android OS 5.0 and above; iOS 12 and above; and KaiOS 2.5.0 and above, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 devices.

Before the app stops working, users will receive a notification to update the operating system. In the case of Android, you need to access the cell phone settings, go to the “System” section and check for software updates. For the latest iOS version, go to “Settings”, then “General”, select “Software Update”, then tap “Automatic Updates” and activate “Download iOS Updates”.

Remember that if your device doesn't support the new updates, WhatsApp will no longer work. This means you won't be able to send messages, make calls, or send videos and photos.
