    A drone reaches the summit of Mount Everest

    Mount Everest, the highest in the world, is often the place where many records are set. This week, another hit: The first delivery made by drone on the mountain.

    A drone manufacturer from China managed to do just that this week The first “handover” to the climbers who were on the top of the mountain. The company's engineers said on Wednesday (5) that I was able to bring six oxygen cylinders for the climbers as well as 1.5 kg of supplies.

    DJI also said it conducted rigorous testing to ensure the drone used could handle the extreme environmental challenges of the mission, including testing wind resistance, low temperature and weight capacity.

    DJI said that with a successful delivery, the drones could provide relief to workers who frequently risk their lives navigating Mount Everest's Khumbu Icefall to deliver supplies.

    “The ability to safely transport equipment, supplies and waste by drone has the potential to revolutionize the logistics of climbing Mount Everest, facilitating litter clean-up efforts and improving safety for all participants,” said DJI Director Christina Zhang.
