The artist was hospitalized in January this year due to his health condition. He detailed his health problem and left a warning to his followers.
“Today I came to share with you a moment that affected our lives in an unexpected way. I, Felipe Simas, have been diagnosed and are facing optic neuritis, a condition that can be one of the first signs of a spectrum disorder. Optic myelitis (NMOSD) – a rare autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, especially the optic nerve and spinal cord,” he explained in the caption of the video post in which he appears alongside his wife. “It was scary dealing with symptoms like loss of vision and pain when moving my eyes. Those sensations awakened an alert inside me, a signal that something was wrong. Seeking medical help was crucial, and only then could I begin to understand what was happening.
“My journey has highlighted the importance of not ignoring the signals that our body sends us. It is necessary to immediately pay attention to these symptoms and seek the correct diagnosis,” he concluded.
