    The federal government's public accounts closed with a deficit of R$58.4 billion in February. It's the worst brand in history National wealth. These data were issued by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday 26.

    The first two months of 2023 generated a surplus of R$38.2 billion in government accounts. However, in 2024, the accumulated amount for the same period decreased to R$20.9 billion.

    The National Treasury announced that the payment of R$30 billion in court orders contributed to February's negative fiscal month.

    Lula's government has reported that it seeks to eliminate the public accounts deficit in 2024. The current administration's preliminary result, in the accumulated 12 months, is a deficit of R$252.9 billion – a figure equivalent to 2.26% of GDP. Product (GDP).
