WhatsApp has started testing a new feature that allows sharing videos of up to one minute in length through the app status. As reported by WABetaInfo, this update is being offered in version 2.24.7.6 Beta, available to participants in the Google Play Beta program.

This functionality aims to provide greater freedom and creativity to Meta users, similar to the dynamics of sharing stories on Instagram. The obvious goal is to consolidate resources between Mark Zuckerberg's social platforms.

It is worth noting that WhatsApp has already allowed videos of up to 30 seconds to be posted on status. In the image published by WABetaInfo, we can see a one-minute video posted, with the ability to edit and include additional elements, such as subtitles and stickers.

It is important to note that this functionality is being offered in the beta version of WhatsApp, hence there are no expectations yet of its availability in the stable version of the app. Furthermore, since not all test program participants have immediate access to the resource, it is necessary to wait patiently.

Sharing videos up to one minute long on WhatsApp has been a long-standing demand from the user community, which seeks a consistent experience across the company's platforms.

Meta is constantly expanding the options available to users, such as a test that increases the number of photos allowed in the Instagram Carousel from 10 to 15. It remains to be seen what the next addition to the brand's services will be.
