Valentina, the eldest daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Tadeo Schmidt, wanted to pursue a career in journalism and took a few classes, but left communications at the beginning of the year. She said she withdrew from the course after falling victim to homophobia and even prejudice because she was also the daughter of a journalist.

“Some of the teachers discouraged me. One of them, in particular, made a lot of homophobic comments about me and also offensive comments about my parents. I thought, ‘I’m not going to be in an environment where I don’t feel welcome,’” said Valentina, who now studies performing arts. “I’m not “I don’t regret anything about this trip.”

Valentina also said that when she came out as “queer” on LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, in 2021, she started experiencing negative comments about her sexuality as well in college. “When I came out, I caused a huge stir. I realized that because of the fame I had gained for being my father’s daughter, it would end up blowing up. People said I did it to get attention. I did it because I was that way.” Finally I became comfortable with myself,” he said in an interview with the newspaper O Globo.

She also recalled that she had already faced the situation when she was a teenager. “I have been bullied at school for a long time and have dealt with all kinds of negative comments. If I can deal with it at such a complicated stage, I’m not afraid now,” he warned.

Then Valentina concluded. “There are comments attacking me almost every day,” she said. “I feel offended by what they write, yes, but I don’t let it get me down or the people I love.” (fullpress)
