In fifteen hours, the post had more than a million likes. However, the recording was soon deleted from the artist’s profile.
SAG-AFTRA rules prohibit members from publicizing their actions through press interviews or posting on social media during a strike. Although the actress doesn’t mention “Only Murders In The Building” in the video or encourage her followers to watch the series, the hashtag makes fans assume it’s a post about the production.
Although it is still debatable whether this was a breach of the rules or not, some observers accused Gomez of breaking the strike, and indicated that it would be a “silent” post as the professionals paused before the footage was deleted. The show is currently in its third season and none of the cast has given interviews to advertise work.
Hollywood strike
In early June, the actors’ union opened a vote among its members to approve the joint strike.
