TCL is another manufacturer investing in the mobile sector in Brazil. Among the novelties of the brand we have 30 5G, an affordable medium that arrives with support for new generation networks and as another alternative to models from Samsung, Motorola and Xiaomi.
Its design is not a strong point. It comes with a waterdrop notch and wider bezels than is common in recent releases. TCL 30 5G is a simple device with a plastic coating and a metallic coating that seeks to imitate metal.
Its 6.7-inch Full HD+ display and AMOLED panel has a good level of brightness, contrast, and saturated colors. What disappoints is that there is only a 60Hz refresh rate, while even entry-level phones already adopt a 90Hz screen for super fluidity. Mono audio also does not impress in terms of power and quality.
The performance is due to the Dimensity 700 chip from MediaTek, which guarantees good speed when opening applications and even outperforms others in the segment with Qualcomm or Samsung devices. The problem is the 4GB RAM that suffers from keeping everything open in the background.
The 5,010 mAh battery yielded 30 hours in our benchmark test, which ranks it among the best when it comes to autonomy. It would be possible to get a two-day battery life, as long as you don’t play much. Charging time could be better and it takes almost 2 hours to fully charge the battery.
The imaging suite consists of a 50MP camera and two 2MP cameras, one for macros and the other for scenario blurring. Images recorded on sunny days are within what would be expected from a basic medium with a high-resolution camera. Other cameras are unexciting, and while the camcorder only records in Full HD, it doesn’t have the stabilization to handle shakes and captures muffled audio.
