Eduardo Girao spoke about the specialized inspection office in an interview with Journal da Manha

This week, parliamentarians oppose the president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) has announced the “Gabinete de Fiscalização Especializada”, a group inspired by the initiatives adopted in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia to oversee the work of the Ministries of Federal government. The group’s mission is to examine budgets and public policies implemented in the country. At least 27 parliamentarians, both federal MPs and senators, are part of the group and will work on a voluntary basis. Each member of Congress must serve as a kind of “mirror minister,” responsible for monitoring the actions of each government portfolio. Among them, Representative Chris Tonito (PL-RJ) oversees the Ministry of Women, Deputy Luiz Lima (PL-RJ) will be in charge of sports, Senator Marcos Pontes oversees science and technology, and Vice Mendonca Filho (União Brasil) education, among others. To talk about the initiative, Jornal da Manha, from Young Pan NewsSenator interview Eduardo Gerau (Novo), responsible for supervising the Ministry of Human Rights within the college.

Girão stated that it is important for the Cabinet to organize the opposition in a project to point out errors and contradictions in the government and demand clarification from the ministers: “This model is really innovative (…) I think we will succeed in having a very special focus in this work and in a coordinated way, in the ministries of the government The current Lula, which is completely lost, already tired, with 100 days in government, and resentful. In this thick crust, in this protection that is under everything, we will understand and we will see what is going on in these ministries with a magnifying glass to analyze numbers and public policies and I think everything will be Fine “

I was in charge of the Ministry of Human Rights. I even have people in my team who worked in the previous government’s ministry. This makes it a lot easier because it’s an agenda I embrace before I ever imagined and considered getting into partisan politics. For example, we see a government arrived with an understanding of human rights that seems somewhat vague. President Lula goes to the campaign and says, for example, that he is against abortion, and writes a letter to Christians. What is the first thing the Ministry of Human Rights does? He sends a pro-abortion speaker to the United Nations for a symposium. This shows a fundamental contradiction with a basic human right, which is the beginning of life (…) This government needs a specific job and we will of course realize the successes that may come, we have to take this responsibility, but as we will point out the mistakes and contradictions and deny to the people exactly what is happening in each ministry,” he said.

According to the senator, the group consists of nine parties that will work together to articulate the individual and collective initiatives of the ministries: “We have been able to do something above the party, each in its field, each with its experience and professional life experience to oversee ministry to ministry. We will cross all this in meetings and coordinate it. It is It shows a very organized and very focused opposition to serve the nation.” Eduardo Girao also commented on some of the recent guidelines that are already being evaluated by the Cabinet: “We see with concern the conformity with the STF in these decisions of the Federal Government. On the issue of sanitation, it was disrespectful. I participated in the debates and this vote. 513 deputies federally and 81 senators and the president of the republic. Look at what it costs for the country, the hours of work and advisory services for us to pass legislation. The parties supporting the Lula government apply to the STF and the thing falls into the hands of a minister who does not respect his colleague, takes a pen and makes something that was already 90 Billion R$ in useless investments, creating jobs and generating health for Brazilians.”

“It is these absurdities that we see, like, for example, relaxing the state-owned law to make jobs suspended, making the political move of ‘take it, give it here’, the deal that no one can afford any more. But that is Labour’s modus operandi. That is why we in the opposition, in an organized and focused way, will put a magnifying glass and we will work, whether in a judicial way, or in parliament, or by denouncing and bringing the truth to the population. At a time when we live in search of freedom of expression, we still have a voice here. He concluded that we shall fight well within our strength, until we know our limitations and our shortcomings.” Check out the full interview in the video below..
