What is the best life and career advice one of the five richest men in the world has ever received? For Bill Gates, the billionaire founder of Microsoft, the greatest wisdom he’s ever heard has nothing to do with money.

He announced this on the official YouTube channel of the UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, who also participated in the interview. The two answered questions generated by the artificial intelligence.

When asked about the greatest piece of advice he’s ever received, Gates quotes his friend Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor he knew in his youth: “At the end of the day, he said, what matters is what your friends really think about you. And how strong those friendships are.”

Gates also took the opportunity to offer a second tip. He recalled teaching American physicist Richard Feynman, who died in 1988. β€œHe always said it was good to show your confusion, because if you pretend to know something, your thinking gets sloppy, and eventually, you won’t be able to understand it. Understand things.”

The artificial intelligence also asked the businessman what advice he would give the youngest Bill Gates about his career. Gates said he would have spent less on his staff. And remember, he demanded total commitment from those around him in the early days of Microsoft, until he lost control of it as the company grew and he realized that employees also had children and lived outside the office. β€œI was very severe and didn’t believe in weekends or vacations. That means I didn’t take advantage of helping a lot of people because they didn’t fit into my narrow vision of work and discourse,” he explained.

Gates also said that he was writing songs and poems with the help of artificial intelligence. He concluded the interview by saying that he believes in a “bright future” for humanity, as long as it invests in education for all and in the youth’s desire to innovate.
