The fee received by country singer Gustavo Lima to participate in a Mega da Verada commercial in 2021 is under 100 years of secrecy by order of President Jair Bolsonaro.
Section 31 of the Access to Information Act provides for a hundred-year confidentiality and is limited to personal data relating to “intimate relationship, private life, honor and image”. The text specifies a hundred years as the maximum period for this type of secrecy—that is, the period could be shorter.

Information about the inclusion of cache information for sertanejo in the list of confidentiality was reported by the Movimento Country portal. Also according to the publication, the transparency portal states that Caixa Econmica Federal has disbursed more than 10 million Brazilian reais for the campaign, but the allocation and use of the funds, and the payment made to the singer by the presidential decree, are not disclosed.

Lima, whose payments with public resources this year have been in question, started the movement that became known as “CPI do Sertanejo”, a supporter of the president and a friend of the family. During the campaign, President-elect Lula criticized Bolsonaro for also imposing secrecy in the process investigating Flavio Bolsonaro in the “Cracks” case.

The singer sought Folha de S. Paulo, and did not want to comment on the matter at the time of publication of this report.
