    Republican Ron DeSantis, potential opponent of the former President of the United States Donald Trump For the Republican presidential nomination in the 2024 elections, he was re-elected as governor of Florida in the US midterm elections held on Tuesday (8), according to US media.

    It’s no surprise that rising Republican star DeSantis, 44, has triumphed in this conservative state over former Governor Charlie Crist, the former Republican who changed the party, according to ABC and CNN.

    Thirty-five seats in the Senate and all 435 House seats, plus governors from 36 of the country’s 50 states, are up for grabs. Republicans are the front-runners to win the five seats they need to take control of the House, while in the Senate – currently divided 50-50, with Democrats holding the deciding vote for US Vice President Kamala Harris – the race is on. Four states: Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and Arizona.

    The results in fierce disputes may not be known for days or even weeks.

    More than 46 million Americans voted before Election Day, either by mail or in person, according to US Election Project data, and state election officials warn that counting all of those votes will take time. The Senate’s control may not be known until a possible December 6 run-off in Georgia.

    Massachusetts elects first lesbian governor of the United States

    Democrat Maura Healey became the first gay governor to be elected in the United States on Tuesday (8), after defeating Republican Jeff Dale, with the support of former President Donald Trump, in Massachusetts, according to several media outlets.

    Healy, 51, comfortably defeated his opponent and secured this important state for Democrats, which was in Republican hands.
