Jumbo ended up causing damage at an airport in a major American city, by destroying part of the terrain prepared next to the runway.
The case occurred during the take-off of a Boeing 747-400 passenger plane from Atlas Air, an American air cargo company, and Currently the largest jumbo player in the worldwith more than 50,747s in its fleet.
As shown in the video below, the plane took off from runway 17 in Minneapolis – Saint Paul Airport, in Minnesota, in the American Midwest. This runway is the smallest at this large airport, which has three other runways, closer to the passenger terminal.
The jumbo jet seen in the footage above was at the airport in an unusual way, with Atlas not transporting cargo ships to location and this passenger 747 was on a charter to transport military personnel to El Paso, Texas.
However, Jumbos are frequently operated in Minneapolis by UPS with their 747-400 and 747-8 models, but they generally use runway 30L/12R, although there are also records of operations on Runway 17.
The flight took place on October 23 with a 747-400, registered N481MC, which intriguingly raised only what appear to be grass slabs on its right-hand side, leading to the belief that this area may have recently undergone some interference, with the flaps not yet. Fully installed on the floor.
