Christian Eriksen, 29, is close to resuming his career after nearly eight months away from the field. The Danish midfielder, who suffered a cardiac arrest in his team’s match against Finland, for the European Championship, in June 2021, was announced as a boost to Brentford (ING).
Without a club since his contract with Inter Milan (ITA) expired, the athlete signed an agreement until the end of the current season. And in a video published by the English club, he said: “I can’t wait to start playing.”
Eriksen’s contract was terminated by Inter after he implanted an ICD, capable of detecting and treating arrhythmias through electrical stimuli. Equipment is banned in Italian football, and he was keeping fit at the facilities of Ajax (HOL), the team that revealed it.
The midfielder was released from doctors and opted to return to England, where he played from 2013 to 2020, wearing the Tottenham shirt. Brentford is currently 14th in the Premier League.
In addition to undergoing a cardiac evaluation, the player has also completed a Covid-19 vaccination schedule to be able to play in the UK.

The Dane, who claimed he died “for five minutes” in the match against Finland on June 12 last year, before doctors could revive him, said recently that he was already feeling fit and motivated, even to compete in the World Cup in Qatar.
