A Slovenian man has been arrested for taking seven doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. To receive five of them, the guy was paid by people who wanted to obtain a health passport, which allows entry to prohibited places and participation in events.
A police spokesman said, according to the local newspaper, “Dnevnik”, that “the person in question received small sums from four suspects who took advantage of his difficult social situation and pressured him to commit this crime regardless of his health condition.” .
In addition to the detainee, the other four were denounced for paying for the man’s vaccinations. In the country, the penalty for the crime of fraudulent misrepresentation can be up to three years in prison.
The man was caught trying to vaccinate for the eighth time, using someone else’s documents.
He received the seven vaccinations at various medical centers across the country, twice with his own documents and five times with third parties. The authorities have not yet reported the potential health consequences of multiple vaccinations.
According to Our World in Data, from the University of Oxford, only 56.8% of the entire population is vaccinated in Slovenia. About 19% have already received the booster dose.
In total, the country of about two million people has more than 450,000 cases of Covid-19 and more than 5,500 deaths from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
