Play Mortal Kombat 1 It was one of the surprises at Summer Game Fest 2023 and in a quiz session promoted by the event itself, it is possible to test it. Consequently, many gameplay videos are released by the attendees.

A lot of the details about the game itself should only be revealed when people can sit down and produce their stuff, but it does follow what is said (via Dealer cap):

Kameos are an important part of the gameplay and are integrated into the system in many ways;
Breaker spends 3 bars and you need a Kameo;
There is a mechanic for defending and punishing flyers eg. An attacker can cheat by not hitting him in the air and punishing him on the ground;
Juggle (keeping an opponent in the air) is greatly expanded;
Kameos her dead;
You can hit Kameos.
Jax’s Kameo grand slam hits everyone on the scene, including himself;
Jax’s throw as Kameo can be extended twice to get more hits;
Kenshi can become a puppet character (think Zato from Guilty Gear);
Sub-Zero has a version of Ice – he can transform up to three statues;
Sub-Zero has a sort of diving kick reminiscent of Cyber Sub-Zero;
Liu Kang has a fireball that bounces off the ground;
Kameos can be summoned multiple times in a combo. Thus, there are many possible ways;
Jax’s Kameo Fatality is as gigantic as Mortal Kombat 3.
