    a Virgin Atlantic AirlinesOn Monday the 5th of this month, a UK-based airline announced that it will start offering daily flights to Brazil. The route presented by the company will be a direct flight between London and São Paulo, starting from May 13, 2024, and tickets will go on sale in August.

    The route from London Heathrow Airport to Guarulhos Airport is the airline’s first foray into South America. The flight takes 11 hours and 55 minutes on a Boeing 787, and the times announced by the platform are 12:45 pm and 8:20 pm for the London-Sao Paulo route and 10:10 pm and 1:25 pm for the Sao Paulo-London route.

    According to Brazilian airline Latam, with the new offer, passengers will also be able to connect at 12 domestic airports in Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Florianópolis. Similarly, customers traveling from Sao Paulo to London Heathrow will also have the option to connect to final destinations such as Tel Aviv, Delhi and Shanghai.

    To kick off the news, Virgin Atlantic has published a video with Brazilian model and actress Juliana Paes, with retrospective elements of Carnival and with reference to samba. The post sparked criticism on the networks, as users pointed out the reinforcement of stereotypes.
