Vegan activists today (15) poured milk onto the floor and other food items in UK food shops to protest in defense of a “plant-based future”.

Activists are part of a movement called Animal Rebellion, which calls protests against animal products “milk spills” or “milk spills.”

Activists posted videos of protests at Harrods stores in west London, Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly and Waitrose in Edinburgh.

In a video taken at a Marks and Spencers store in Manchester, a man is heard telling protesters: “Plant-based future? Take off your shoes. They’re not plant-based.”

The meat counter at Harrods was among the targets of activists, while the cheese counter at Fortnum & Mason received a “milk leak”. Both shops are the most elegant in London.

Animal Rebellion said in a note to British tabloid Daily Mail that it was calling for a plant-based future, highlighting the government’s need for agricultural producers to switch from meat consumption to a sustainable plant-based diet.

Skyler Sharples, a graduate in international development at the University of Sussex in Bristol, was one of the protesters at Harrods, joined by UK Prime Minister Liz Truss and the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as supporters of Animal Rebellion protest. It would be ignoring the demands of activists.

“A plant-based future will be a beautiful world where we all thrive with nature and life. Actions must start now to adequately support farmers in this transition,” he said.
