Three Trump aides said Thursday that former US President Donald Trump is considering launching a third attempt at the White House this month, while Trump himself raised the strong prospect of a comeback during a rally in Iowa, US.

“And now, to make our country successful, safe, and glorious, I will probably do it again,” the former president said at a rally Thursday evening, considering a bid for 2024. ,” he added.

Aides said Trump is inviting those close to him to discuss possible scenarios, as he looks to capitalize on the expected Republican victories in Tuesday’s election.

“I think Trump, like a butterfly attracted to flames, will run in 2024,” a senior adviser told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity. “I think he wants to run, and announcing that before Thanksgiving gives him a huge advantage over his opponents and he understands that.”

Aides said an announcement in the coming weeks could scare off potential contenders for the party’s nomination, though they added that the former president could still delay the decision or change his mind. A representative for Trump did not respond to a request for comment.

A source familiar with Trump’s plans said he plans to announce his re-election campaign shortly after Tuesday’s election and is exploring potential officials.

Nonpartisan election analysts and researchers say it is very likely that Republicans will win a majority in the US House of Representatives and also have a chance to control the Senate, giving them the power to block President Joe Biden’s legislative agenda in the US. the next two years.
