    Thiago Monteiro, of Ceara, the Brazilian number one singles player was eliminated by the ATP, in the first round of Wimbledon, in London (UK). On Wednesday (30), Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime of Brazil overcame Felix Auger-Aliassime (19) three sets to zero, by three 6/3, in two hours and ten minutes of play.

    Auger-Aliasime was more accurate than Montero during the match. In addition to not making double faults (against two of the Brazilian), he won nearly 60% of the points in dispute. Citizen Ciara had twice the number of non-forced errors (40, versus 20). In the next stage of the British Grand Slam, he will face the Canadian Mikael Ymir (98th), who beat French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (85th) in three sets to 2, with partials 7/5, 6/7 (4/7) and 5/7, 6/4 and 6/3.

    In Brazil there are three other tennis players competing in the men’s doubles championships. All debuted on British turf on Thursday, at times yet to be determined. Minas Gerais faces world number 13 Bruno Soares, Britain’s Jimmy Murray (22) North America’s Nicolas Monroe (87) and Canada’s Vasque Pospisil (65 in singles and 192 in doubles).

    The second best Brazil in the doubles ranking, Marcelo Melo (19) from Minas Gerais and Poland’s Lucas Kubot (17) will face the Americans Jackson Withrow (79) and Nathaniel Lamons (86th).

    Marcelo Demolliner (49th) and Mexico’s Santiago Gonzalez (54th) made their debut against Kazakhstan’s Andrey Golubev (40th) and Robin Haas (44th) from the Netherlands.

    In the women’s doubles group, the country earned Luisa Stefani, No. 23 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking. The partnership between Sao Paulo and North America’s Haile Carter (25th place) will also play on Thursday, at a time to be confirmed, against Serbs Nina Stojanovic (55th) and Aleksandra Krunic (57th).

    Finally, in the mixed doubles, Brazil will be represented by Stephanie and Demoliner. The partnership began on Friday (2), with no time limit, against Estonian Annette Kontaveit (25th in the WTA singles rankings) and Australian Matt Reed (90th in the WTA doubles).
