There is strength in unity: 50 monkeys attack a tiger while it is trying to capture one; Watch the video | Biodiversity

Attacking a group of 50 single-handedly, courage or lack of sense? A tiger who pounced on dozens of baboons in hopes of an easy meal learned the hard way that the second option is healthier. Its end was almost tragic.

The case took place in the Kruger National Park, Safari, South Africa, and was photographed by visitor Ricky da Fonseca and published in LastestSightings.com.

Da Fonseca says he was traveling between different areas of the park when he noticed a tiger on the side of the road. This isn’t entirely surprising at the scene, but the visitor did notice that the animal was on the hunt.

“When I repositioned myself for a better angle, I noticed a group of baboons playing on the road ahead. Then I knew something exciting was going to happen,” he says. “Given the size of the troops, I thought it was impossible for this tiger to be brave enough [para atacá-los]But it surprised me,” he continues.

The video shows the moment a leopard jumps out of the grass in an attempt to catch one of the baboons by surprise. The predator soon realized it was being too optimistic, as about 50 monkeys reacted quickly and chased away the cats. According to da Fonseca, several primates bit the leopard, but he managed to escape the worst of it.

“Not knowing what the outcome will be, we held our breath. Luckily for the leopard, the baboons calmed down and managed to escape with some bruises and cuts on his body. His ego was definitely damaged more than his body.”
