Following a subscription agreement between the Italian Serie A (Italian Football Championship) League and the broadcaster, it will be closed by BT Sport in the UK. The three-season deal will allow PDT Sport to broadcast live Italy’s best airlines until 2024.

All matches will be shown at the beginning of the tournament, while at least five matches per round will be broadcast live, with a total of over 200 matches in the 2021/2022 season alone.

Rachel Knight, Director of Sports Rights at BT Sport, commented: “We want to offer our customers the best game in the world, and by adding Serie A, visitors can follow the biggest stars, managers and clubs. The world of football.”

Knight added: “European football has always been an important part of our work. Serie A now joins the exclusive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League, and League One in France.”

The weekly Italian League show featuring key stories from each round will be included in the overall coverage of BT Sport, which will feature a presentation by Italian football expert James Richardson.

The announcement follows the Italian national team’s victory in the European Cup final against England in a battle for the title between rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan last season. The public will follow the return of Jose Mourinho to the Italian first division with AS Roma, while Cristiano Ronaldo is working to maintain its position as Juventus’ main power in the country.

The deal creates an extensive live football coverage portfolio for BT Sport, which recently renewed its media rights agreement with the Premier League, Sky Sports, Amazon Prime Video and BBC Sport.
