The party chief confirmed Sunday (6) that in the US midterm elections, Republican candidates will accept the results regardless of whether they win or lose. Donald Trump supporters continue to deny the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

Rona McDaniel also said she was confident of “good momentum” for Republicans to regain control of the Senate and House of Representatives in Tuesday’s vote, which would derail Democratic President Joe Biden’s agenda in the second half of his term.

For two years, Democrats had a slim majority in the House and one majority in the Senate, the votes of Vice President Kamala Harris.

McDaniel told CNN that Republican candidates for both houses in Washington, as well as state and local offices, “want to make sure the race is fair and transparent, let the process happen, and then we’ll accept the results.”

Former President Trump, who had yet to concede defeat to Biden two years ago, has been toying with conspiracy theories in the run-up to this election.

Hundreds of Republicans who ran for office on November 8 supported Trump’s baseless allegations of fraud in 2020, and many are also skeptical about the future outcome, contrary to McDaniel’s comments.

According to analysts and the Democratic camp, there will be about 300 Republican candidates ready to compete in the results of the national and local elections Tuesday night.

Given the tense atmosphere, an Arizona judge recently placed restrictions on self-proclaimed election observers who appeared near polls carrying weapons.

Asked about her party’s support for these people, McDaniel said “no one should intimidate voters” and urged observers “not to break the law.” But he also noted that election observers should not be intimidated.

Opinion polls predict a clear victory in the House of Representatives for Republicans, who could also regain control of the Senate.
