Seven people have been killed in a stampede outside an airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, the UK Defense Ministry has said. According to Reuters, the Taliban were able to maintain order and try to organize the queues for access. On Saturday, the United States warned of dangers in the region.

“Our sincere thoughts are with the 7 Afghan families who died en masse in Kabul,” the British Defense Ministry statement said.

On Sunday, UK Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace wrote in an article in the Daily Mail that if the US deadline to leave Afghanistan was not extended, there would be no time to expel all people who want to leave the country.

“Perhaps the Americans can stay longer and get our full support if they stay … I keep saying that no nation is going to expel everyone at all,” Wallace said.

He said Afghans who wanted to leave the Taliban would have to cross the border on their own if the Americans did not stay. “We are going to set up several border centers for Afghanistan and we have an obligation to bring it to the UK,” he said.

The UN Refugee Agency calls for the opening of immigrants’ borders to Afghanistan’s border areas.

According to the agency’s spokeswoman Carolyn van Buren, most Afghans are unable to leave the country through legal means. He warned that commercial flights would not arrive or depart from Kabul until last Saturday.

President Joe Biden has reached an agreement with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to welcome Afghanistan, which has used two military bases in southern Spain to work for the US government.

“I had a significant conversation with President Joe Biden in which we talked about common interests, especially the situation in Afghanistan and the cooperation between our governments to expel civilians from that country,” Sanchez wrote on his Twitter account.

The United States on Saturday (21) advised Americans in Afghanistan to refrain from going to the airport in Kabul, as thousands of people tried to flee the country after the Taliban seized power.

The warning came after Mullah Bardar, one of the Taliban’s co-founders, arrived in Kabul for meetings with other leaders to form a new Afghan government.
