    Putin added that according to the World Bank, Russia “was ahead of the Federal Republic of Germany in purchasing power parity and in economic size,” which are among the most important indicators.

    It is ahead of Russia, China, the USA, India and Japan, meanwhile, in terms of the size of nominal GDP in 2022, Russia ranked eighth, behind the USA, China, Japan, Germany, India, the UK and Germany. France.

    Russian officials have confirmed on more than one occasion that the country will be able to withstand the pressure of sanctions that the West began applying a few years ago and continues to intensify. Moreover, Putin emphasized that the Russian economy is growing steadily.

    “But since the third quarter, economic growth has already begun in Russia and now its rates are quite stable. So, in the second quarter of this year, GDP grew by 4.9 percent compared to the same period last year,” Putin said.
