    A fearless passenger became a true hero after he stopped a man who went out of control while opening the emergency door during a flight to England. The incident happened on a flight from Tel Aviv to London’s Luton Airport that made an emergency landing in Belgrade.

    Courage in the sky

    The hero of the story, 45-year-old Victor Troboloni, not only assaulted a crew member, but also acted bravely when he confronted someone who tried to open the emergency door when the plane was at an altitude of 10,000 meters. Victor described the moment he had to restrain an attacker who tried to attack a flight attendant before she could choke him.

    With the help of other passengers, the flight attendants restrained the attacker until Victor secured him with plastic ties. A brave group of crew and passengers helped move the man to one side of the aisle for the remainder of the flight.

    Walking down the corridor from the plane’s cockpit entrance to the emergency exit at the other end, Victor noticed the assailant’s strange behavior on the plane. As an aeronautical engineer, Victor realized something was wrong and acted quickly.

    After the attacker was contained, passengers were on board for about an hour before an emergency landing in Belgrade. Viktor, from Albania, was from Zurich and was visiting his ailing mother in St. Albans, England.

    Victor shared his anxiety during the incident, fearing that he would never see his mother again. He explained that many women and children were on board, all shocked after the incident but grateful for Victor’s courage.

    A Vis Air, the airline involved in the incident expressed regret for the inconvenience and reiterated its commitment to the safety of passengers and crew. This is not the first case of heroic passengers facing dangerous behavior on flights, highlighting the importance of awareness and quick action in critical situations on board.
