The NFL has signed a deal with ITV as the new home of broadcast television in the UK and Ireland after signing a three-year deal.

Laura Woods will be the new coverage anchor, with Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora still working as analysts for England’s gridiron coverage.

The 2022 season begins on September 9, when the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams face the Buffalo Bills.

And ITV will bring the first of the channel’s one-hour weekly shows at 11:30pm on the same day.

The deal will bring the season’s climax, Super Bowl LVII, live from Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023.

ITV will show two of the season’s three London games; The New York Giants take on the Green Bay Packers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 9, and the Jacksonville Jaguars face the Denver Broncos at Wembley Stadium on October 30.

The new deal brings the NFL back to ITV for the first time since the network aired the last of its three consecutive Super Bowls in 2007.

After joining ITV’s coverage, Woods said, “I’ve been a fan of the NFL for years, so with the new season only a few weeks away, I’m excited to be part of the team that brings ITV viewers. Great move. Big stories every week.”

Umenyiora added, “We have seen the NFL grow in ways I could never have imagined when I played here for the Giants in 2007. This new partnership will lead to the game being brought to an even wider audience. We feel very accepted by the England fans and we are delighted that they will be able to watch us on ITV.”

Bell said: “I can’t believe the growth of the NFL, not just in the UK but globally, and I’m so grateful to be at the forefront of it. I can’t wait to expand the NFL audience with the new ITV team. The OC and I are delighted to be working with Laura and our passion and energy will be exactly what NFL fans have come to expect from us.” , and I know there will be eye-opening new fans as well.
