A “killer clown” roams the streets of a quiet village in the United Kingdom, terrorizing many of its 2,000 residents. Around Skelmorley in North Ayrshire (Scotland), 30 miles from Glasgow, the scary character wears a Pennywise-style outfit complete with a scary mask and make-up.

Wearing white gloves and a lace collar, as well as a closed blouse with large, fluffy red buttons, she was spotted by several residents. A resident, who asked not to be identified, said her two children, ages 11 and 13, are not allowed out at night, according to a report in the “Daily Record.”

Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the main character in Stephen King’s 1986 novel “IT,” which was adapted into a 1990 miniseries starring Tim Curry as the creepy clown. It was made into a two-part movie in 2017, in which Pennywise kills children on the streets of Terry, Maine (USA). Last week, a Facebook account created by the clown – who calls himself Cole Deimos – posted pictures of himself in the dark streets of the village – and crawling on all fours over a bridge.

In one image, he is holding a red balloon and looking at the screen with a sick smile on his face. In the book and movies, Pennywise provokes the deaths of children by swinging red balloons over roads and storm drains, where he waits to catch them and pull them into the sewers.

Other photos show the “skelmorly killer clown” – as he has been nicknamed by locals – “snarling” at the camera as he poses outside a shop in the village while behind a locked gate.
