    In Africa, in the 19th century, due to the British role in European imperialism in Africa, 10% of the continent was under European rule. This percentage remained the same until 1876, and from 1900, this figure increased to 90% of the territory.

    The area that corresponds to today’s Kenya was occupied by England during that period, and after that, many anti-imperialist movements started organizing in the country to oust the British. A good example of this is the Mau Mau Rebellion of 1952.

    According to Vitor Soares, history professor and creator of the Historia em Mea Hora podcast, many died during the uprising, and hundreds of thousands were sent to concentration camps. These camps included forced labor, torture and humiliation.

    Known name
