Whether it’s to study or just enjoy a moment, it’s only natural to want a break from social media — as long as circumstances allow for removal. In this sense, many online platforms allow users to temporarily suspend their accounts, so that they can come back later. Likewise, users who use WhatsApp may not receive messages through their phone settings.

Is it possible to temporarily suspend a WhatsApp account?

Unlike other social networks, as of the time of publication, we do not have an official feature that would allow users to temporarily suspend their accounts.

Now, if you would like to not receive messages in a short period, like a few hours, without having to turn off your Wi-Fi, then yes, it is possible. As a solution, you can get what you want by forcibly stopping WhatsApp.

In short, with the feature, you will not receive messages when others send them, and you will be offline to other users until you open the program again. Step by step may vary depending on the device model.

    Android:

    • Access your mobile settings.
    • Enter the Applications tab.
    • Right after that, find WhatsApp.
    • Click the “Force Stop” button. Again, the name may be different.
    • Finally, the force stop.

    ready!

    iOS:

For iOS users, the procedure is simpler: turn on system multitasking. After that, you will be able to view the apps. Finally, touch and drag the app you want to force stop up

Bottom line, the next time you open the app, everything will be back to normal. Keep in mind that if you want to take a break, avoid opening WhatsApp as much as possible.

Other ways to not receive messages

    Disable WhatsApp notifications:

As a result of deactivation, although you cannot see messages in the notification center, they continue to be sent. In other words, whoever sent the message will know you received it — even though you don’t show the notification.

    Background process restriction:

WhatsApp always checks for messages by running in the background. So it is what allows them to talk to you even if you are outside the messenger. Finally, just like our first highlighter, the user just has to open the app to normalize.
