After nearly 30 years of scaring several young children in A Viagem (1994), Guilherme Fontes may return to play the infernal Alexander in a movie based on the series. According to the representative, Globo has abandoned the idea of reworking the story of Ivani Ribeiro (1922-1955) and is preparing a feature film to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the broadcast of the plot. The project, which is still in its infancy, will tell what happened to the characters, and Alexander will appear straight from heaven.
“The impression I have is that it’s not going to be a remake, no. I think it’s a feature film. They talked to me a little bit, we’re waiting for the script to see what the story looks like.” But it’s a movie and I’m going to do it, I don’t know exactly what. I don’t know if I’m going to do another character or it’s Alexander in the memoirs. I am very anxious, the actor said, waiting to read the script” the news.
Fontes was at the launch of The Others series, which will premiere on Globoplay on Wednesday (31), wearing a black turtleneck top, just as Alexandre wore in the series. The actor himself said that he remembers the character when choosing the costume for the event and that he feels very happy to be recognized even today for this work.
“We’re working towards this, for this recognition. It’s work that was done 30 years ago and still has a huge impact today, as new generations are being formed, become a meme, and enter the digital world. I only see a future for this character. A year in the past I even used a sticker of Alexander to poke Big Brother,” laughs, who has already adopted his second name for life: “Every day, for 30 years, someone calls me Alexander on the streets and I look! Cool, I love him and I feel really good.”
In addition to being forever marked by Dina’s rebellious brother (Christian Torloni), Fontes can also be seen in Mulheres de Areia (1993), which will be repeated in the special edition in June, replacing Chocolate com Pimenta (2003). Good guy Marcus was Fontes’ gateway to take on the role of Alexander the following year. He accepted the invitation to play the character just two days before taping for the 7 o’clock TV series, which became his biggest hit, began taping.
“These are my most classic works, the most famous even on social networks. I was very happy to know that Mulheres de Areia will be back,” he celebrates, who does not bother with the passing of the years: “I have always loved getting older. Aging is in the head.
