    Google Passkey on Android

    On Android, passkey “tokens” can be synced with Google Password Manager or supported credential apps. After logging in for the first time with the technology, Access will appear in the auto-complete list.

    To use the passkey on the computer, the user can use the Android or iOS device to set up the first login. According to Google, the device does not share the access key when the login is performed and requires a QR code to be read.

    “Only the generated code is shared securely with the website, so unlike a password, there is nothing to leak,” Google’s blog explains. After configuration, login is via Passkey in the browser’s password manager.

    Support for iOS and Chrome OS

    It has been revealed that the Chrome team is working on Passkey support for iOS and Chrome OS. However, Big Tech points out that the technology may take time to be widely adopted in all locations, and thus make it to other systems.

    “Passwords will continue to be a part of our lives as we make this transition, so we remain committed to making traditional logins more secure and easier with Google Password Manager,” the developers highlighted.
