And the rumors were right on target! SEGA has taken advantage of State of Play to announce a very welcome remaster: Sonic x Shadow: Generations to be released for PS4 and PS5 in spring 2024.

The game is a remake of Sonic Generations (2011), one of the most popular Blue Hedgehog games since it became 3D. In the gameplay, the player can choose two versions of Sonic (one 3D and one 2D) and progress through classic scenarios (Green Hill Zone, City Escape, etc.) filled with enemies.

As the name of the redesigned version suggests, Shadow will also have room to shine. If in the first game he was just a boss who obtained the Chaos Emerald, now, Sonic's rival will be playable in an unprecedented campaign. Watch the trailer:

Shadow the Hedgehog is back and will join Classic and Modern Sonic in Sonic Play as Shadow the Hedgehog in an all-new story campaign and tackle 2D and 3D stages like Classic and Modern Sonic in a remastered version of Sonic Generations. Sonic X Shadow Generations comes to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Spring 2024!

What to expect from the story of Sonic x Shadow: Generations?

In the story, Sonic is going to celebrate his birthday with his friends, but a being appears from the space-time vortex and sucks them there. In another dimension, the hedgehog meets his (2D) version of the past and they both need to join forces to save their comrades.
