    The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship announced, on Tuesday (20), in London, United Kingdom, the tentative calendar of the tenth season, with novelty and a return to Brazil. Electric car racing returns to São Paulo (SP) in March 2024 and for the first time the class will take place on the streets of Tokyo, Japan.

    The provisional calendar of the tenth season issued by Formula E and the Fédération Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) after ratification by the FIA ​​World Motor Sport Council and supported by the ASNs (National Sporting Authorities) for each host city, comprises 17 stages, 13 of which have already been confirmed.

    As in the current championship, the next season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will start in Mexico City. The test date has been set for Saturday, January 13th. Three rounds of the 17 tentative calendar are listed as TBD (to be confirmed) as Formula E continues advanced discussions with a range of potential host cities at featured venues.

    On March 16, Formula E returned to Sao Paulo, successfully holding its season-opening race in Brazil. The Anhembi Sambódromo will once again have 22 class cars speeding along the samba lane in the capital, São Paulo.

    “The calendar marks our ongoing mission to create a dynamic lineup of new cities that will host the races for the first or second time, such as Tokyo, Sao Paulo and Portland, along with well-known hosts such as Berlin, Rome, London, Monaco, Diriyah and now Jakarta.

    The race in Tokyo on Saturday 30 March 2024 will be the first FIA-sanctioned FIA World Touring Car Championship event in the Japanese capital. Twenty-two drivers from 11 teams will race their flagship GEN3 race car – the fastest, lightest, most powerful and most powerful electric racing car ever – in the streets around the Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center, located on the waterfront of Tokyo Bay. Tokyo.

    Formula E and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government are working together to bring racing to the city in support of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) initiative, part of Tokyo’s Zero Emission Strategy. The city has a climate action plan that aims to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

    “I am very happy with the official decision that Tokyo will host the Formula E race in March 2024. Focusing on spreading the use of zero-emission vehicles, the Tokyo metropolitan government is accelerating actions in all areas to promote Zero Emission Tokyo, an advanced city,” said Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo.     More dates for 2024

    This weekend, Formula E will make its debut in Portland, Oregon, and will return next season when the US city hosts the final international race before the series wraps up in London at the end of July.

    Berlin, Germany will maintain its record as the only city to host an E-Prix in all 10 championship seasons, cementing its reputation as a popular venue for drivers and fans alike with a record 190 overtakes and 23 stage changes. from this season.

    Diriyah (Saudi Arabia) will once again host the only double night race on the calendar, while Monaco, Rome (Italy) and Jakarta (Indonesia) complete the calendar of candidate host cities.
