It is scheduled to be launched later this year, Dying Light 2 Stay Human promises to be a visual spectacle, on both computers and consoles. The game will make use of graphic technologies such as Ray-tracing, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and also various image modes in PlayStation 5 Nor X-Box S e X series.

In an interview with MP1st, Techland Lead Level Designer Piotr Pawlaczyk commented on what gamers can expect in terms of graphics, resolution, image quality, and performance across all platforms.

Pawlaczyk explained that there will be plenty of options for next-generation machines. For players who prefer a more visual experience, they have developed Quality mode. Activates ray tracing to “constantly improve ambient light”.

According to the designer, this is the starting point for other effects, such as frame post-processing and volumetric effects. Pawlaczyk also points out that ray-tracing is the basis for creating “physically correct” shaders within a game.

VRR and 60 FPS + are on

While some prefer a more impactful look, other players value the performance and smoothness of the game much more, especially in first-person shooter games.

happily, Dying Light 2 performance mode will run above 60 fps (frames per second) on new generation consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X).

me and VRR technology will only be available on Microsoft console and PC. The designer explains that Sony has not yet enabled this functionality on the PlayStation 5, something that should happen in the coming months, through a software update.

Variable refresh rate (VRR) is a feature that allows you to synchronize the refresh rate of TVs and monitors that are compatible with HDMI input. This makes games run more smoothly, without introducing common problems such as screen tearing (“ripening” in the image caused by interrupted sync between the TV and the console or graphics card).

This technology has proprietary versions of NVIDIA and AMD, called G-Sync and FreeSync, respectively.
