    SAO PAULO, SP (UOL/FOLHAPRESS) – A dog was caught accidentally starting a house fire after chewing on a mobile charger in the United States.

    The animal is seen lying on a mattress, chewing on equipment. The incident occurred in May, and the video, captured by a home security camera, was released in late July by the Tulsa, Oklahoma, Fire Department.

    Minutes later, the charger's lithium battery ignites, explodes and catches fire. The mattresses in the living room catch fire while the two dogs and the cat in the house look terrified by the situation.

    The animals were able to escape safely through the dog door. Firefighters also showed what the heavily damaged home looked like after the fire was extinguished. No one was injured.

    The fire department warned of the dangers of lithium-ion batteries. According to the company, this type of battery can explode if damaged or even if it overheats. It explained that “it is important to keep it out of the reach of children and pets.”
