huge Anaconda snake scares some people who were walking along the banks of a small river because of its size. Watch the video below

The video calls attention to precautions people should take when risking entering flooded areas, specifically so that they don’t encounter huge anacondas like the ones shown in the video.

According to biologist Henrique Abrahão – a snake biologist – who specializes in studying the behavior of anaconda snakes, there are no official records indicating that an anaconda devoured a person.

Anacondas only attempt to defend themselves when they feel threatened. Its instinct, upon sensing the presence of humans, is to flee the scene.

    Who are the anacondas?

with a semi-aquatic habit, Anaconda Snakes (Eunectes) endemic to South America and can be divided into four types:

Eunectes notaeus, the yellow anacondaa settlement in the Pantanal region; Eunectes murinus, the green anacondawhich is the largest and most famous of the flooded regions of the Cerrado and Amazon, and in the latter biome, animals tend to reach larger sizes; Eunectes deschauenseei, the spotted anacondaoccurs in Maraju Island and French Guiana, as well as in some other parts of the Amazon and Eunectes beniensis, the Bolivian anaconda.

One of the main characteristics of anaconda snakes, in addition to their impressive size, is their sexual dimorphism, that is, in all four species, females are larger than males.

When in the mating period, anacondas release pheromones to attract males to breed, which can lead to many males approaching. The female ends up choosing only one to breed.

Females gain a direct benefit from a protein-rich meal after copulation when they eat their mates, along with the indirect benefit of additional resources to use for raising offspring.
