    Today Wednesday (10) Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Laura da Rocha and Ambassador signed. UK Stephanie Al-Khaq of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Brazil on a new agreement on air services between the two countries.

    The result of joint work by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPR), the new agreement provides that Brazilian and British airlines can decide independently. Offer of round trip flights for passengers and cargo.

    Updating the bilateral legal framework of 1946, the new agreement envisages the right to transport passengers and cargo by aircraft between signatory countries (where rights are known) between Brazil and the borders of the United Kingdom and a third state. in the section “The Fifth Freedom of Air”).

    The agreement expands the permission for cargo services operations, requiring airlines of both countries to carry international cargo without requiring the operation to begin or end in the company's country of origin (“Seventh Freedom of the Air”).

    The new agreement, which will be sent for consideration by the National Congress, will provide greater legal protection to companies operating routes between Brazil and the United Kingdom, contributing to increasing the two-way flow of trade and tourism.
