The classic Airbus A310 with registration number 10+23, which was recently decommissioned after 32 years of service by the German Air Force, will have an unusual new destination: it will be converted into a restaurant that will be installed in a zoo on the outskirts of Hanover and Discover our partner Aviacionline.
This is an aircraft that before joining the Luftwaffe in 1991 had been operating in the colors of the East German airline Interflug for two years, first under GDR-ABC registration, then D-AOAC. Its capture by the local air force, after the unification of Germany, turned the aircraft into a model for transporting troops, cargo and medical evacuation.
However, the interior configuration, with seats, allowing up to 214 passengers, has been partially preserved. However, due to their work, rows of seats can be quickly converted into hospital beds for air medical support. The maximum range of the aircraft was 11,000 km.

The end of a long military career
The last operational mission of the 10+23 took place during the air evacuation in Kabul, at which time the Luftwaffe evacuated about 5,000 people, including allied German and Afghan citizens and their families. The A310 was used to transport Afghan refugees from Tashkent Airport (Uzbekistan) to Germany.
The last flight of this aircraft was from Cologne Airport to Hanover, where it was greeted by water arcs. From now on, it is expected that it will not take off again.
