A man finds 60 pieces in his stomach

A man who had been suffering from stomach pain for two years has shocked the doctors who treated him at Moga Medicity Hospital in Punjab, India. It turned out that the patient had more than 60 objects in his stomach, including household items, buttons and even headphones.

According to the New York Post, 35-year-old Kuldeep Singh went to the clinic due to a high temperature and severe stomach pain. Doctors examined the area and made this disturbing discovery. “When doing the X-ray, we found medals, chains, nuts, bolts, headphones and many other things inside the stomach.”Ajmer Singh Kalra, director of the hospital, said.

For health workers, the pain the man felt was caused by some of the objects he had swallowed. “While he was eating sharp objects, there were serious injuries to his stomach.”Kalra explained. For this reason, the patient underwent surgery that lasted about three hours.

Singh was also diagnosed with pica syndrome, also known as allotriophagia, a disease in which the patient compulsively swallows things that are not food, according to the Cleveland Clinic. This disorder is more common among young children, pregnant women, and people with schizophrenia or autism.

Although the procedure was successful, the patient is not out of the woods yet. “He is still using mechanical ventilation and is in critical condition.”, lamented the doctor. According to Jam Press, family members were not aware of the problem.
